God spoke to me in the middle of traffic

👣 WALK YOUR TALK with Amy
A Weekly Dose of Truth, Freedom & Love
The Peace That Passes All Understanding 🕊️
Recently, a client shared something with me that stopped me in my tracks. It reminded me of a moment in my own life that I have never forgotten.
Back in 2021, I had just finished coaching school and was deciding whether to hire a business coach. It was a massive investment. So massive that I would have to borrow money to do it.
I was driving alone to a family party, stuck in traffic, arguing with myself in my head. One program was three times the price of the other. My brain was going back and forth over and over again, ruminating on the pros and cons of each investment. I was mentally spinning.
And then something miraculous happened.
Out of nowhere, in the middle of the chaos in my mind, I felt this immense peace wash over me. It was profound. I was overcome, like a third presence stepped in and stopped the fight in my mind. And the message was simple but I heard it and felt it at the same time.
You are going to be OK. Everything is going to be OK.
It was so powerful and subtle, I started crying immediately. Saying thank you, thank you, thank you God. I recognized it immediately as the peace that passes all understanding through Christ Jesus. I knew in my bones that it was God telling me I was held and on the right path.
And then, within seconds, my brain came back online and said, “But you didn’t give us the answer. Which program should we choose?”
That part still makes me laugh.
God did not tell me which program to choose. He told me I was going to be OK.
That changed the trajectory of my decision making process instantly and forever.
Making Decisions from Worth, Not Fear
After that moment, I realized something. It didn’t matter which program I chose. I was going to be OK. This was going to work. I was going to make it work and God was on my side.
So I chose the one that was three times the price!
Because..... if this thing was going to happen, no matter what, I wanted the best support I could get. I wanted the time, the attention, the depth that the larger investment offered.
That was the first time I made a decision from the frame of, If I knew I could not fail, what would I choose?
If I knew I was worthy and worth it, what would I choose?
That moment in the car has never left me. Life and business have been amazing at times and hard at times. I have made money and lost money. I have made decisions from fear since and from courage. I am perfectly imperfect and imperfectly perfect all at the same time.
But whenever things get tough, I always remember that peace in the car and the message that came right from God into my body that I will be OK.
I'm trusting it more and more as I'm navigating massive uncertainty in my life and business this year.
I remember that I am held. That everything is unfolding as it should. That I am going to be OK.
Intuition, Fear, and the Divine
People ask me all the time, “How do you know the difference between intuition and fear?”
Here is what I personally believe.
We all have intuition. It lives in our nervous system, in our DNA, in the wisdom passed down through generations. It speaks softly. It wispers. It does not yell or fight like fear does. Fear is loud. Urgent. Protective.
And then there are moments where God speaks.
They are rare. You cannot manufacture them. You cannot meditate your way into them. They come in the middle of chaos. Grief. Uncertainty. They feel like peace in your body and you don't know why. There is no explanation or logical reason for it. It just is. It feels powerful and simple at the same time.
Your brain will try to make sense of it immediately after. That is how you know something sacred just happened.
For me, those moments are encounters with the Divine. The Holy Spirit. The energy of the universe that lives inside all of us.
Have you ever had a moment like that? If you have, hit reply and tell me. I would genuinely love to hear it.
I am walking my talk this week by remembering that peace in the car. By choosing from worth, not fear. By trusting that even when my brain wants a guarantee, God has already given me what I actually need.
You are going to be OK.
Everything is going to be OK.
With love, Amy
