🤫 5 Things You Don’t Know About Me

Sometimes the best way to connect is to peel back the curtain and share what’s real. Here are 5 things you probably don’t know about me. And what they’ve taught me about freedom, healing, and being human.

#1. 😭 I Cry. A Lot

I’m about as regular with my tears as I am with my daily 💩! Crying has become a core part of my self-care. Most mornings before my kids wake up, I do a workout and then tap out my overthinking brain while walking outside.

I usually wake up with a massive to-do list spinning that has me feeling behind before I even get started. It REQUIRES tears to release it. If I don’t let it out early, it hits later anyway so I think of it as part of my morning routine.

Biologically, tears carry stress hormones, so it’s not your imagination that you feel lighter & WAY BETTER after a good cry.

I used to be a never-crier. Now I’m a mid-life weepy woman and proud of it. There is nothing better than a good cry. Not even an orgasm beats that release for me. (Well... Almost!)

#2. 🙇🏻‍♀️ I’m an Introvert.

I spend a lot of time alone and I need it. I love it! There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between loneliness and Loving Solitude and I spend most of my time in the latter. My energy is precious, and my interactions with my kids and clients fill my tank. Small bursts of social time are plenty for me. A CrossFit class. A walk with my best friend. A little engagement online.

My favorite nights are the quiet ones. Blanket, PJ's, and Love Is Blind on the couch. (Heaven for me.)

#3. 👰🏻‍♀️ I Never Dreamed of Marriage.

As a kid, I didn’t picture a wedding. I pictured Independence and Freedom. And yet, I was the first of my friends to get married & have kids! (the irony). I met my ex-husband at age 23, and we were engaged within three months. My nervous system felt safe around him for the first time ever, so I jumped in.

One divorce, three kids, and a lot of healing later, I can say this. I love being single. When I look back, I believe I married to prove my worthiness, normalcy in society. Now, at age 48, I’m content, grounded, and fulfilled alone.... AND... not afraid to say it out loud!

Freedom has always been my top core value. I knew that about myself by the time I was five years old and today, I’m living that FREEDOM out loud for my inner child and my future self.

AND- I'm open to this changing one day and am not afraid it will be too late. I've never bought into the lie that you need to find someone while you're young. For me, the older I get the better I get.

#4. 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ I Move Every Day.

Whether it’s CrossFit, walking, or yoga, movement has been part of my life since childhood. I can still picture my mom popping in a Jane Fonda VHS tape in our tiny apartment. We’d push the coffee table aside and move together. Later she upgraded to The Firm tapes, and eventually, a gym membership. I joined in and never stopped since.

During the pandemic, my biggest fear wasn’t school closures. It was the gyms shutting down! So I got creative. I bought dumbbells on Facebook Marketplace and discovered YouTube workouts.

To this day, I still work out with my two favorites: Heather Robertson and Boho Beautiful.

#5. 🦸🏻‍♀️ I Wanted to Be Wonder Woman.

Not just as a costume. I truly believed I could be her. My dad was larger than life when I was a kid. My mom used to say "your father could sell ice to an eskimo." He made me feel unstoppable. When he abandoned us at age 5, my world crashed. My dream of being Wonder Woman died with his absence. I decided I couldn’t be powerful without him.

So I settled. I became a nurse, a safe version of saving people. But through my healing journey, I found her again. Now, I am that Wonder Woman whose gone back and saved that little abandoned 5 year old.

My inner child got her wish. I help women become the hero in their story. That’s my mission because it’s my own redemption. And honestly, that’s more than enough for both of us!

Thanks for reading to the end.
